Caring For Creatures

Sundae and Fenway now very much loved members of the Murphy family !

THE MURPHY BUNCH !
When we lost our old friend, Samson, in December of 2007, we thought  we’d wait a while to get a new dog.  It would be nice to have a clean  yard and no dog hair to vaccuum up!  It wasn’t long before we realized  that the house, despite having four young boys in it, seemed empty!

We began to check out local shelters in a “just looking” frame of  mind.  Then we began to look online at other shelters, casually at first, then more intently.  One day, we stumbled upon the Caring For
Creatures website and read about Sundae’s puppies.  We found out there  were only a couple left and decided, sight unseen, that we wanted one  for our family.

Sundae's litter - quite a handfull-that's for sure !

We made the arrangements over the phone, decided on a date to pick up  the puppy, and poured over the pictures on the website which included Sundae.

Mom Sundae and pup Fenway relax at home Jan, from Caring For Creatures, had told us about Sundae and  what a great mother she was to her twelve puppies.  Something told us  that Sundae should be a part of our family too so we called back and  made those arrangements as well.

Fenway (formerly known as Half-Baked) came home to us first.

Fenway as a pup, so very cute !,
It was  so much fun to pick her up at Caring For reatures and meet  Sundae too.  She quickly fit into our rather active home.

We came back to  pick up Sundae a couple of weeks later since she had recently been  spayed and needed some quiet time.  Sundae seemed a bit shocked by the  energy level at our home but has gotten used to it and now even enjoys  it.  It’s great to have mom and baby together although Fenway is now  bigger than Sundae and likes to wrestle her and chew on her ears!  Sundae is quite tolerant although she can put Fenway on her back if  necessary!

So now it’s never empty in our house.  Our yard is a mess, (thank you, Fenway) and we have more pet hair on the floor and the furniture  than ever before.  But we also have two lovely girls who bring us  great joy every day!
